£18.0030 years on!…a gala concert to celebrate BSW’s 30th Anniversary featuring the world premiere of Shooting Star (Martin Ellerby) with Oliver Janes (clarinet)
Join BSW, Award Winner of Classic FM’s 2022 Big Platinum Performance, for a special afternoon gala concert celebrating our 30th anniversary. We will be joined by Oliver Janes, principal clarinet of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Michael Collie, BBC Midlands Today presenter. We will be showcasing music we have played throughout our 30 years including Riverdance, Stars and Stripes Forever, our first commission by our inaugural patron Guy Woolfenden and the stirring Sword in the Crown by Edward Gregson, narrated by Michael Collie. We will also be performing the world premiere of our latest commission of new work by our current patron composer Martin Ellerby – Shooting Star, in memory of original BSW member and clarinettist Simon Purkess.
